Experience

I've spent the past three decades helping nonprofits and foundations improve local, regional and global communities.

Donor Communications:

Digital content: website, blog and social media | Annual report | Direct mail | Campaign and donor material | Special report | Brochure and promotional material | Print and e-newsletter | Case for support and collateral | Annual appeal | Sponsorship proposal | Board and internal communcations

For six years, I was the associate with LOVEfundraising, a small consultancy in Vancouver that provided strategic fundraising and philanthropy services to Canadian nonprofits. In 2024, the founder retired and closed the company.

  • Developing and executing fundraising and communication strategies
  • Providing interim in-house fundraising/communications staffing
  • Assisting with campaign resource/feasibility studies, interviews and recommendation reports
  • Writing cases for support and donor collateral
  • Managing grants process, from applications to final reports

Before that, I served seven years as deputy director for Philanthropy Northwest, a Seattle-based nonprofit network of 150+ private and public foundations, corporate giving programs and individual donors across the Pacific Northwest.

    • Managing multi-year organizational expansion in programming, financial resources and operations
    • Leading fundraising campaigns that resulted in over $2 million from individuals, foundations and corporations
    • Cultivating strategic relationships with board members, sponsors, public policy officials and community stakeholders
    • Advancing relationships among donor and Indigenous communities
